WHAT IS MODIFIED BITUMEN Roads are the 'lifeline' of the modern world. The properties of paving bitumen and bituminous mixes can be improved by addition of certain additives or blends of additives. These additives are called Bitumen Modifiers and the bitumen premixed with these modifiers is known as “Modified Bitumen. A bitumen emulsion plant has two process steps namely water phase preparation and actual emulsion production. the emulsion production equipment includes colloid mill and pumps for bitumen and water-phase, dosing lines for solvent, latex, flux-oil and cooling equipment. Water-phase preparation unit has a holding units for the water-phase chemicals and dosing and mixing equipment.
