Dispersing And Milling / Colloid Mill:

The colloid mill is useful for milling , dispersing, homogenizing and breaking down of agglomerates in the manufacture of food pastes, emulsions, coatings, ointments, creams, pulps, grease etc etc. The main function of the colloid mill is to ensure a breakdown of agglomerates or in the case of emulsions to produce droplets of fine size around 1 micron . The material to be processed is fed by gravity to the hopper or pumped so as to pass between the rotor & stator elements where it is subjected to high shearing & hydraulic forces. Material is discharged through a hopper whereby it can be recirculated for a second pass. For materials having higher solid & fibre contents conical grooved discs are preferred. Cooling & heating jacket arrangements are provided as a standard feature on both these mills.

Dispersing and Milling / Milling System:

Certain materials such as lubricating greases & food pastes may require the removal of entrapped air during the process prior to packing. This machine has been developed with an online deaerating system whereby entrapped air is removed after the material is passed thru the mill. A specially designed deaerating chamber with adjustable orifice plates placed in a vacuum chamber accomplishes this online.

Dispersing and Milling / Disperser:

S F ENGINEERING WORKS variable speed disperser is a highly versatile machine for the production of paints, inks, coatings, construction chemicals etc. The main function of this machine is for breaking up of the aglomerates , wetting & dispersing of pigments in liquids. Due to the variable speed control the speed of the shaft can be varied at different stages of the mixing process thus saving power. Another advantage is in the hydraulic lifting and lowering arrangement wherein the height of the mixing shaft can be adjusted so as to obtain a uniform product circulation & perfect dispersion. A wide range of paints & inks can be produced on our dissolvers without the use of grinding media. Mixing vessels of different capacities with heating, cooling & vacuum arrangements are also available. OPTIONAL Mixing vessels. Vacuum arrangement. Dispersing and Milling / Sand Mill:

Used mainly by the paint, ink & coating industries for size reduction and dispersing of pigments in liquids. Particle size reduction upto 2 microns is possible in a single pass. The material to be processed is pumped from the bottom of the mill into the milling chamber which is filled with grinding media of 3mm dia. The media is agitated by a shaft fitted with a number of impeller discs along its length. As the material moves upwards it is subjected to high hydraulic & shearing forces between the grinding media which results in fine grinding of the material. This material then passes through the screen which separates the media from the process material. All mills are povided with a jacket arrangement for cooling the material in the grinding chamber. Dispersing and Milling / Basket Mill:

This is batch process machine for size reduction & dispensing of paints, inks, coatings etc. The mill consists of a grinding vessel inside which rotates a shaft fitted with impeller disc. The grinding media and the charged materials are filled into the vessel & the shaft is a run at a very high speed for a particular time till dispersions is achieved. Vessels with jacket arrangements are provided as a standard feature. 2 nos. variable speed dispersers are also provided for final dispersing and through mixing.

Dispersing and Milling / Bead Mill:

Batch Type Bead Mill has all contact parts made out of 304 quality Stainless steel, The cabinet is totally enclosed in a M.S. Frame giving steamline appearance and comprises of the following: Main motor for driving the S.S. Shaft complete with 'V' belts. One S.S. Shaft with impellers made of S.S. 304 quality duly hardened for longer service. The above drive is provided with imported self aligned bearings to withstand high speed and initial torque of the mill. The grinding chamber is provided with a cooling jacket in MS construction provided with inlet and outlet nozzle.

Dispersing and Milling/Horizontal or Sand Mill:

These mills are used for processing of inks, paints & coatings etc etc where a high level of size reduction & dispersing is required. Grinding & dispersing takes place in a pressurized chamber. A shaft fitted with wear resistant impeller discs agitates the grinding media.. Particle size reduction in sub micron size is possible in a single pass. Mills are equipped with a cooling chamber as a standard feature. Cartridge mechanical seal and water cooled pressure reservoir with level switch and thermometer. Tangential product inlet optimizes product flow and facilitates clean-up. Abrasion resistant 420 stainless steel grinding chamber with dual zone water jacket. Center media fill and drain ports ease media loading and removal for rapid product cleanup and changeover Interchangeable disc and spacer configurations permit optimization for diverse product types. Front end product separator screen provides easy access. Self-contained and telescoping carriage system for easy removal of chamber and access to chamber components. Unique, ergonomically designed frame provides easy access to mechanical drive and internal components.

Dispersing and Milling /Attritor:

SF ENGINEERING WORKS Attritor is used for producing fine & homogenous dispersons quickly & repeatedly under controlled conditions. Used for the manufacture of ceramics , inks, paints,coatings, metal oxides, ferrites, chocolates, chemicals & pharmaceuticals. The Attritor is often referred to as a agitated ball mill. The material to be ground is charged into a vertical tank filled with grinding media. Both the material and grinding media are then agitated by a shaft with arms causing the media to exert shearing & impact forces on the material. This action produces an extremely fine material measured in microns. No pre mixing is required. All attritors are provided with cooling jackets. Recirculating facility is available as optional.

Dispersing and Milling / Three Roll Mill:

Used for grinding & dispersing of inks, paints, chocolates carbon pastes, polymers, rubber, coatings etc. The machine consists of three rollers operating at different speeds. The material is fed between the fist two rolls and is discharged from the final roll by a scrapper blade. The paste passing between the rolls is subjected to high stress & frictional forces resulting in the breaking up & separation of the particle to produce a finely dispersed film. The gap adjustment between the rolls can be done manually or hydraulically. Rollers are independently cooled by a water circulating facility. Rolls are available in S. S. 304 or Chilled Cast Iron construction. OPTIONAL: Hydraulic Roll Setting Adjustment Two Roll Mills Mainly used by the rubber & plastic industry for mixing and dispersing chemical additives into highly viscous materials. The mill consists of two parallel rolls mounted in a heavy frame with provision for accurately regulating the pressure & distance between the rolls. The rolls can be independently heated or cooled. The material passing between the rolls is returned to the feed point by the rotation of the rolls. The material is fed between the rolls until the desired consistency is obtained. Available in different roll sizes.

High Speed Emulsifiers suitable for Mixing, Dispersing, Homogenizing & Shearing of viscous liquid and pastes used in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food, Paint & Ink Industry. The unit consists of a centrally located shaft coupled to a flanged type motor mounted on a steel housing. The shaft is provided with a Shear type cowless blade for quick & efficient processing of the material. Tie rods are provided for stability of the unit along with a mounting bracket to suspend the unit. Note : A lifting and lowering stand can be provided at an extra cost. OPTIONAL Portable Stand.
